Neighbours In Poplar aims to enable vulnerable people, especially those living alone, to live fulfilling and meaningful lives within their communities. We strive to add quality, wellbeing, a sense of independence and meaning to the days of their lives. See below for a list of services we currently provide.
Our Projects
Neighbours In Poplar is committed to improving the lives of vulnerable people in our community. We have several ongoing projects aimed at reducing isolation and loneliness and promoting wellbeing. Our services are designed to promote wellbeing, reduce social isolation, and help individuals to maintain their independence and dignity. Our team is dedicated to providing quality services and support to those who need it most.

LinkAge Plus
Hubs
Linkage Hubs operate 4 days a week, the hubs are a place where older people can have lunch, take part in activities, and enjoy the comradeship
LinkAge Plus Outreach
Linkage Plus Outreach workers work with older people to improve their wellbeing increase their social networks and tackle isolation. The Outreach team visit people in their homes when needed and make referrals if requested.
Bengali Women's Holistic Project
We empower and uplift Bengali women through tailored support services and educational workshops. Our goal is to foster a strong sense of community while promoting holistic well-being and self-empowerment. Join us as we embark on a journey of empowerment and solidarity.
Meal Delivery Service
This project began during the first lockdown in March 2020. It was intended to cover a few months but has grown and expanded as there was no other service in the Borough to provide fresh hot dinners to vulnerable isolated residents. The need still exits to this day.
Summer HolidaysProject
We provide disadvantaged children with breaks from their normal environment during the summer holidays. We have taken thousands of families on Day Trips to seaside's.
Tackling Pensioner Poverty
We're dedicated to lifting individuals out of poverty and bolstering community resilience to prevent further instances of impoverishment. Our efforts have assisted hundreds of clients in accessing the diverse range of welfare benefits to which they are entitled.
Christmas & New Years Meals
For over 55 years, we've been spreading holiday cheer by delivering Christmas and New Year's festive meals to over 200 clients. During a time when many individuals feel isolated and alone, these meals serve as a beacon of warmth and connection.
Digital Inclusion Project
Our Digital Inclusion program empowers older individuals to navigate the online world confidently. From providing equipment to teaching safe device usage, we enable connectivity and reduce isolation. We aim to bridge the digital divide and bring the outside world closer to those we serve.
